SENATE BILL NO. 72 "An Act relating to civics education, civics                                                                 
examinations, and secondary school graduation requirements; and                                                                 
providing for an effective date" was read the second time.                                                                      
                                                                                                                                
Senator Bishop, Cochair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the                                                              
adoption of the Finance Committee Substitute offered on page 1763.                                                              
Senator Begich objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no                                                            
further objection, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 72(FIN) "An Act                                                                       
relating to civics education, civics assessments, and secondary school                                                          
graduation requirements; and providing for an effective date" was                                                               
adopted.                                                                                                                        
                                                                                                                                
President Micciche stated CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 72(FIN) will                                                                   
advance to third reading on the February 16 calendar.
